I'm trying to determine if I can hard-wire my strobes, but don't see a Panasonic-compatible part.
The Nauticam Nikonos 5-pin bulkhead #25013 looks possible, but I hope someone can comment on a solution.
Thanks

From a DIY perspective the answer is always yes, if you camera has a hot shoe and your strobes have a wired sync connector. Buying off the shelf is a different answer.

Minimal DIY solution requires a 2 wire hot shoe connection to a bulkhead connector. 2 wires gives you manual strobe control. TTL requires more.

I have no knowledge of off the shelf solutions for your set up.

I did a recent DIY conversion of an optical P&S housing to manual wired control. Works awesome. In manual. No wired TTL as my camera was not capable. Had to drill a hole & install a bulkhead connector.

The nikonos bulkhead works fine. It only has the central button to fire the strobe

I would recommend you don't bother with that and use the bulkhead for the leak detection valve

Thanks for the info- sounds like a possibility.
re. using the port for the vacuum/leak option- I've not given it much thought, but I was wanting to try hard-wired strobes, or I have to continue with my HW adapter (not too bad), or buy new strobes (no thanks). Also, I admit that I might need to be sold on the concept. I've never owned a Nauticam housing, but I have had a few OEM housings and an Ike 110 with a flash cube on the handle dating ~40 years back. The only leak I've ever had was from a runaway desiccant pack. No doubt a checker would have caught that, but I learned my lesson and have had no problems since. And I want to spend that money on video lighting... I get the insurance angle, and will give it more consideration.

I have used that part is compatible with pretty much anything. It only has a central connection with X and ground
Which means you can not do ttl. Manual strobe only.

But I am confused. A 5 pin bulkhead is capable of passing ttl signals. A 2 pin has x and ground. Are we talking about different things?

Nikonos 5 pin format with two live connections. And anyway you would need a TTL converter in between to have TTL which is not what this product is
Sorry, still confused. Where does the 2 pin limitation come into to play? Inside or outside the housing?

If the hotshoe to bulkhead has only 2 wires, then I have seen that referred to as a 2 pin nikonos (even though the bulkhead has 5 pins). This is an internal 2 wire limitation.

Is there a nikonos connector with more / less than 5 pins?
