I guess that Jim is pretty proficient at color grading. Since you are not and it takes quite a bit of practice, get yourself a red filter. They are relatively inexpensive and provide excellent results. 90% of the good looking UW GoPro videos out there are done with a red filter. Trust me, it will make color correction way, way easier.

I use a better camera than the GoPro and still need a red filter myself.

Actually, I'm not that good... I used the tool to set the white balance based on some white sand in the picture (just like I do with my terrestrial photography). From there some minor tweaking (brightness and contrast) and it was done.

As Pajjpen said, I did my edits on a Mac and used iMovie, or Photoshop CS6 or GoPro Studio. I was able to get it adjusted (slightly different with each program but non-the-less pretty good) on my Mac. Then I tried it on a PC, and couldn't get the colors adjusted properly. The interface was slightly different as I recall (it's been a couple of weeks) but it's the same program. There's no reason I can think of that it wouldn't work on both O/S's the same.

I think that's the frustration Pajjpen is having.

How hard is it to understand? We used the same method using the same programs and his result was way better, hence my question, is pc rly that bad compared to macs?

The more you explain this, the more it sounds like operator error. Nobody else has this problem using PCs.

I have a PC and I use lightroom 5. Very good results :)

Back in the day Apple carved out a niche for themselves by giving their PC's better graphics processing than Windows PC's. Developers took advantage of the hardware and developed desktop publishing, photo editing, video editing programs etc that ran much faster and had better features on a Mac than on a PC.
I don't know that this is necessarily the same case now as the hardware on both platforms have become very similar (note you can run windows on a Mac now).
So your question may be misplaced. Better to ask if the specific software you are using performs better on a Mac than a PC.

Read what Jim wrote above your post.

Edit: I'll try doing the exact same thing on a buddy's pc tonight or tomorrow to check if there is any difference. I'll be using gopro studio again (just like Jim used when correcting his) and I'll get back with with results.

He is one person......all the rest of us white-balance just fine on a PC. So maybe there are two of you with cockpit problems.

Care to try gopro studio and post results on the screenshot of the raw video in the OP?
It's a very simple program.

This is a single-click color balance on a PC, using a free program (Irfanview). There is no problem here. It is either your software or you.

I had no idea Irfranview would do that... Been using that for years. I'll have to give it a shot.

Thanks for the info!

Just use "Auto Adjust Colors" under the "Image" tab. Then play with "Color Corrections" under the same tab if you want to do more. I'm using version 4.36. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think the much-older versions actually had this capability.
