Hy,

I have a leonardo, the official interface, a macbook (osx 10.10.) and the original cressi software for mac.
unfortunately i can not get any connection between them !

What did i do:

1. Install both, the pre-installer and the full software in the right order including reboots and switched of administrator limits.
2. Switched the Leonardo into pc links mode - i just push the button as long as pc link is shown (i hope this is the right way ?) - and then put it on the connected interface.
3. The software shows - no connection ...

Maybe someone got the same problem an give me a tip or solution ?

Greetings,
Ben.

I have had the same problem with my Leonardo and iMac. The software with the interface was not suitable for OS10.10.3 which I had installed so I downloaded the new version from the Cressi website. It still didn't work. I re-installed two or three times and suddenly it worked. Next time I came to download, nothing, no connection again. My OS had meanwhile been upgraded to OS 10.10.4 and I wondered if this was the problem. I re-installed and it worked. I have been in touch with Simply Scuba and they just gave me the Cressi helpline in Italy to aske about the problem. Two weeks later and no response. I shall not be diving for another couple of weeks to check it out again. This is beginning to smell like the problem I used to have with Uwatec computer downloads. Their program was also glitchy. It would not work with a laptop on the mains, only with the internal battery. It would not work with USB connectors, only the old parallel connectors. When are dive computer people going to employ proper programmers?

hy, ias far as i read the forums - there should be no hope with informations from cressi ...

so what did you do - just don`t use it or use another software or switch back to windows ... ?

Use Subsurface. Nice logbook program that runs great on a Mac, and interfaces with the Leonardo.

Ain't gonna help if you get no connection, but the subsurface mailing list might be the better place to ask for help. (It's third-party usb "fake serial" driver and I think it should come up in applications - utilities - system information - hardware - usb)

I don't have new dives to download at the moment, but just tried to connect again. Again I got the inactive screen showing that there is no connection. Tried my wife's computer as well - again no connection. Being of generous nature, I will saythat having no new dives to download may prevent them connecting, but sometimes I am too generous! I shall have a look at Subsurface next to see if that does any good for me.

I have downloaded Subsurface, but that is giving me problems as well. When I go to import dives from the computer, I can put in Cressi and Leonardo, but the links offered are both bluetooth rather thatn that for the Cressi USB interface unit. None of the accompanying instructions seem to cover the Cressis other than to confirm that they are compatible!

Like I said, subsurface isn't going to work if your usb cradle isn't recognized. Yesterday I couldn't remember where the instructions were, I do now: libdivecomputer, a library for communication with various dive computers. -- mac'oh'sex instructions are at the bottom. Note that I have not tried them, no idea if they work in general and on your mac in particular.

FWIW, I have it working on a windows 7 PC. I had it working on my windows 8 laptop but then some update broke it and I'm not fixing it until my next diving vacation.

puuh, looks complicated > which one do i have to choose ??

I can't recommend MacDive enough. It worked for my when my Suunto wouldn't even blink at DM5, and it's been fantastic with my Predator and Petrel. No issues whatsoever with any of them, and the guy is on top of stuff quickly.
