Question - if one does has wrist mounted computers, in a real no-vis, you would put them to your mask, right?

If one has a blackout cover, wouldn't you put the computer to your mask, use the computer to shove the mask cover up a bit, and then put the mask cover back in place? It's not like that little glimpse of "reality" would affect your performance . . . one would hope. I don't know. I'd like to think it would not.

Caveat - not a rebreather diver.

Not sure I could read those numbers that close, @Jax. I think I would go on bailout for the few minutes I would be doing that skill.

I might have poofed a bit of silt here and there, but I've never experienced a major silt out. Hoping to keep it that way, too!

Other than blackout drills in classes I experienced my first one about 2 weeks ago in the back of a pretty small cave. I was just thinking about it the day prior about how I would handle a situation like that when I see a lot of posts about people's panic levels and stories of close calls. I stayed calm realizing I had plenty of gas while locating the line arrows by feel and making my exit. There aren't a lot of arrows in that cave and no flow so the silt wasn't going anywhere for awhile. It was an interesting dive to say the least!

No but I had checked them shortly before the silt out and I wasn't diving to thirds anyway due to it being a small cave and I knew the exit could take a little longer.

I can find ya enough silt for a complete black out...it is honestly a whole new ball game

Not on a rebreather, just sharing my silt out story and it not being fun, sorry, I should have clarified as this is a rebreather thread. It really is a whole new ball game!
