Hi

I don't see a way in preferences to alter the number of posts I see per page. Scrolling through 10 pages to see 95 posts gets old quick :).

any ideas?

It's a site-wide setting. Sorry.

We had it at 20 for a while but a lot of folks were unhappy with that.

The more messages per page the longer it takes to load.

Can you compromise on 15???? It is a pain to flip pages every 10 posts. (I think that each user should be able to adjust the number for his profile on his own).

The combination of long and quickly-growing threads and small numbers of posts-per-page means that it's difficult to keep track and actually becomes a disincentive to read popular threads. This is evident by the number of posts late in a long thread that begin something like "I didn't read everything before this point, but here's what I think..."

Setting the posts/page as a user preference would probably be best for users. Of course, if a user is loading 5x posts/page, then they're being shown 1/5 as many ads, and the $rate/impression drops, which isn't best for ScubaBoard (the commercial entity).

Perhaps a compromise would be to make the posts/page user selectable between 1~20 for everyone and higher numbers available only for site supporters, in exchange for the fact that they'll be exposed to fewer ads.

The setting cannot be changed. Changing the number of posts per page will cause broken links.

I'm sorry, but this is not up for discussion. This is just how it is because of the way Xenforo creates the page URLs.
