My hubby and I just booked Roatan Aggressor for $1995 per person week of 7/22-7/29 2017 and we are the only people booked on a live aboard that can hold 18 divers plus crew. That's $900 off per person since this is a new Aggressor operation, hoping that other divers sign up for the week so that we have some company. Anyone interested?

I hope other divers sign up so they have any money to buy fuel to actually move your floating resort.

This looks like the big hurdle they will have each and every week. By July 2017 we'll have a pretty good handle on what they can pull together.

Look for that $1995 rate to continue- too much land based competition...if they don't run the engines... a lot. Factoring in the "standard" air fare of $900, you wind-up with a very high priced Caribbean dive trip- think $3000 per person for a week. AKR or CCV is $900 to $1200 less.

Buy the ship's t-shirt. Enjoy the micro and macro critters. It's a long time off, somebody else will sign up, for sure.

I'd like it to make it, I want everyone to succeed, I'm just not seeing how it will.

Don't confuse my long term understanding of liveaboard business models with negativity....oh, maybe that's okay...it's really a hard road for any provider.

You have to provide $1000 to $2000 additional perceived benefit over land based.

I would love to go. I would not invest.

I am guessing the OP doesn't care as much about the long term prospects of a bay island livaboard as she does about her trip not getting cancelled because of a lack of other passengers.

The Roatan Aggressor will have been running for six weeks, hopefully, by the time @CLFnLBK and her husband take it. It should be clear by then how it's going. The trip is 3 months from now, I would not be that worried than others will not sign up.

I wonder if there is a general Aggressor policy regarding the minimum number of passengers required for a go or if it is yacht dependent. I did the southern route on the Red Sea Aggressor a year ago with only 4 passengers/3 divers. We had only 7 divers for the northern route the next week. It was fantastic for the divers, not so much for the RSA

Good for you! I'm sure you will have a great time and others will jump in soon. The price of $1,995 is good for a week-long live-aboard adventure. Yes, it's more than the land-based resorts, but there's also more value. You'll be diving some pristine dive sites and seeing some amazing Caribbean scenery :)

We're booked on the September 23-30th trip...can't wait! The captain is from the Bay Islands, so I'm sure he knows his way around. I have no doubt it will be a phenomenal experience! The voyages begin on June 3rd, so hopefully we'll start seeing some trip reports shortly thereafter.
