Posters who note the clothes are the deciding factor do not convince me. So in the interest of Social Science I shall post a Similcrum of myself in a bikini.
Good thing your simulacrum aparrently portrays an albino, because otherwise that is going to be good for 4 razor sharp tan lines.

"Cute girl"

Are you allowed to say that?

This is America, the First Amendment protects your right to express any opinion that the PC censor crowd allows.
So, the answer to your question has recently become, No.

It is an unwritten law that eventually all internet discussions become philisophical and usually on a topic other than the original.

As for the OP, someone saying Hi, and asking to meet is not by itself harassing or stalking.

That party continuing to do so after being told No, does suggest aggressive behavior, and may warrant stronger measures to get that No across in no uncertain terms.
Ignore. Report.

Any further aggressive attempts to contact suggest stalking, and legal action may be required.

Of course, my not being a "girl" may make my opinion worthless to OP.

An interesting topic you bring up there!

The uncomfortable part is saying saying "no" is a not hurtful way, such as, "I am so sorry but my husband will be out of jail in time to rescue our pit bulls from euthanasia after their most recent maiming of our land lord who has been readying his 12 gauge for the occasion while lurking in our weed patch and frightening my 14 children"

Like I said earlier in this thread... most Women are hit on their whole life.. I can understand the OP asking the question "Does it creep you out" to other women on the board.. They come here to share their love of diving, NOT LOOKING for a boyfriend... You can take a peek of a girl in a thong bikini on a beach, When you LOOK it's boarder line creepy, When you watch her it's CREEPY... When you follow her around it's stalking... And again, It's all how the women involved takes it..

Jim...

What I saw in post #1 was

"..I really hate .....................................when guys start hitting on you."

Then the suggestion that a Like, a Follow, and a PM suggesting diving, on a diving forum, was somehow stalking.

It could be, certainly, but while a women has every the right to their privacy, if a simple No stops the contact, then it is not, ( in my male opinion, of course), stalking. Attempted contact after that first No does suggest aggression.

In that first post I may have missed it, but I recall no mention of continued attempts to pursue, just the statement that OP hates being contacted in such a way by a male.

She has the right to hate it.
He also has the right to try.
It is my point that it is what happens after the first No, that determines true intent, and begins to cross the line.
