I am about to pull the trigger on an O2 analyzer. Please vote for what you think would be the best buy for TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). This will be used at the dive site and carried in my bag of "stuff" that will contain the analyzer, SAD kit, dry bag, extra mask, extra computer, etc. so it should be able to travel. All of the choices are around $250 so the exact price is not an issue. I'm looking for Value for $ spent, both at purchase as well as long term maintenance. If someone has another option that I have not considered, please let me know. It's for O2 only. No trimix. No CO.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers - Michael

Just out of curiosity why no CO? My vote still remains with the CooTwo (combo Nitrox & Co), or their nitrox only model the Nitrox Buddy.

I plan to use a different device for CO. The CooTwo would be redundant and based on some of the threads here on SB, they have a bad Customer Service reputation. It may or may not be true. I also think the initial cost and the annual cost makes it a non-starter. Just my thoughts.

I did add the Nitroxbuddy to the list. Thanks for your input.

Questions:

Would you trust a DIY O2 / CO analyzer made with Arduino ?
for kinda less 160 - 170 $

CowTwo 300$

what @tursiops said. Best value is the el cheapo at $150 with all the accessories. All of them are just a potentiometer, a screen, and a sensor. Nothing to it, so no sense in paying any more than that if you don't want any other functionality.

I have now added EL Cheapo II Analyzer Kit
Thanks for the input.

My buddy's CooTwo is junk and you'll never get any response from the company - he sure hasn't. Some of the problems are just bad quality control, some are bad design. I wouldn't take one if you gave it to me.

FWIW, Palm D is simple and has a great form factor to fit in one of those small peli cases but most anything OTHER than the CooTwo would be fine for me.
