I am looking to buy a new compressor and have been looking at the MCH-6 and I have seen people in the past say good and bad things about them just wanted to hear peoples opinion.

Buy a Bauer Junior II, mount an Hour meter on it and a 2M fillhose.
10 years from now, post if you had any problems with it.
Bought mine back in 2000, and it's still running fine.
What I don't do is run Argon through it for more than 20 minutes at a time, Helium for 8+hours at a time is perfectly OK though. Running pure O2 through it, I doubt that you would ever do it a second time

I have the same experience with the Coltri. But more importantly what are you filling or intend to fill? The Coltri is perfect for single tanks and CCR cylinders. Double cylinders are a bit of a push with its filling rate (80L/pm) so you may need something bigger.

The Coltri/Bauer battle is like the battles between training agencies ... mine is best and others suck!
OK ... MCH6 is a great compressor for those that will take care of it. It's primary weakness is that the 4th stage is submerged in the sump. If you are one of those guys that only changes oil after something has broken, then you should not get the Coltri. I have customers with compressors that are 30+ years old and they are still running great. BUT ... you do have to do the maintenance to keep it that way.
I had a guy come to me wanting a small compressor that he could toss in his boat and take it ashore whenever he wanted to camp. I asked him about how often he changed the oil in his boat, how often he did a haul out for bottom maintenance, was there any corrosion on his aluminum topside. It was obvious to me that he was not someone that took care of his stuff. Based on his answers, I sold him the Junior II. It has the same fill rate as the MCH6 he was asking about but was about $1000 more. He was a little upset with the price, but I told him that it would hold up better to "less than perfect" treatment. His Junior II crapped out a few months later from not having the right oil. He didn't want the 800 from Bauer because it was too expensive and he "has a friend" with lots extra. He used motor oil.
So, there is no such thing as the perfect compressor for everybody. For me, the $2700 MCH6 is a perfect compressor because I don't pump up bulk bottles and I do the regular maintenance. Plus, I don't make enough to justify spending almost $1000 more for the same capacity.
