@cruisekingkris need a picture of the drysuit in question to see how much excess room there is in the calves. also, are you using integrated boots, turbo boots, or hard rock boots?

Empty your suit on the surface. Splash. If you are uncomfortable with a hot drop then add gas to your BC/Wing before you drop. Add just enough air to the suit so that it doesn't hurt on descent. Forget comfort on descent. Pay attention to your ears.
When you get to the bottom, add just enough air/gas that your suit doesn't pinch you. Open your suit valve and use your BC/Wing for everything else.
Step 1 is that your suit absolutely must fit properly. Extra fabric isn’t going to do you any favors.
Step 2 is to add enough gas to loft the undergarment. No more, no less.
If your suit fits well, there won’t be a bunch of extra space for a bubble to move around in. If you loft your undergarment, there won’t even be much of a bubble to move around.
Ha! IKR. I like the feeling of just relieving the squeeze at the bottom. Tells me that I 'have arrived'.
Nah. Compare the complexity of a suit bubble to a BC bubble. One of them is far more constrained and manageable in all orientations than the other.
YMMV...
I bought a Pinnacle Black Ice for a cave class. The cave shop sized it for my use in class. Worked just fine with the thinnest of undergarments. No freaking way I can get it on if I'm wearing thermals. Cave diving (to me) is in large part warm-water diving.I'm curious what a cave cut drysuit means. I hear so many stories of bad cuts on the suit, to tight, to loose.

The suit is way too tight for my local diving.
Yes, This is my normal course of action. My weighting is good and splash without needing air in the wing.
I live in a world where less is more, So I try to keep the air in the suit to a bare minimum.
I only use my Wing for buoyancy. The Drysuit is for warmth.
I have a Apeks KVR1. It also has the Canadian made air core that was just installed since the original mexican made air core had faulty feet.
I am currently in single HP120, SS BP/W, Apeks EVO4 Boots. I'm in the 2XL/3XL size suit. I'm 6'3" 215Lbs. I was outside to many fitting guides for the L/XL. I tried the KVR1 and DUI suit on for test dives and felt the KVR1 was more comfortable. I like how this suit feels but maybe not used to the squeeze. Am I a wussy?? Im old school and take a joke.
So let me clarify something.
I'm talking about suit squeeze when I'm at the bottom. My descent is great, no issues. It's the feeling of chest squeeze that I hate. It takes to much air in the suit to make me feel comfortable. That's probably something I just need to get used to. Makes me miss my semi-dry suit.
The air in the feet issue is because I'm digging around upside down looking through holes in the ship or rubble below me. If im hovering or fining in a normal position, I am level as can be. It's only when I go head down and start poking around in the wreck that I get floaty feet. Again, I think I need to get used to moving the air around once I come out of being level.

An old Aquaseal like most everyone else. What's your suit of choice when diving off NJ?
....
So let’s recap:
You’re uncomfortable on the bottom due to squeeze. But you don’t wanna put more gas in your suit because “less is more”.
Cool. Got it.
