My fellow student at JJ-CCR MOD1 has Oxy-Cheq's. One just failed at 5 hours. Oxy-Cheq sent a new one fast. Otherwise, she had no complaints.
Looking inside her head, they seem to fit fine. I'll send a pic.

Funny enough I received an email from DGX that their AI JJ cells are back in stock. If anyone really wants to try the AST cells I would be happy to sell them to you at the exact cost I paid. I personally would prefer to stick with AI since I know them. Message me if interested. The cells are new, sealed, stored in AC. If not, I'll test drive the ASTs

Resurrecting a zombie thread, since now I have a good answer to Ken's question! No idea when the JJ Vandagraph sensors will be available, and neither does the JJ manufacturer or the US distributor. DGX has no AI cells either.

SO, I was wondering if anyone had any real world experience with OxyCheq / AST cells since we last discussed this in December. It looks like I can get some of them.

I grabbed the first 4 (molex) last year... sadly they had a manufacturing issue with 2 of the 4 (didn’t bother with the last 2).

Oxycheck and the mnfr replaced them ASAP and all has been great since then.

That's my concern with them. Everyone I've spoken to about them has said they an issue with them, but once dealt with by Oxycheq they were happy. Mind you it's only 4 or 5 people, but still. I'm hoping the issues don't continue and it's just an early adopter problem.

A lot of this discussion seems to be around JJ cells, so this may not be the complete answer you are looking for.

I have an O2ptima and was due for a cell replacement a couple months ago and everyone was out. So I reached out to Patrick and got two cells. One that I needed right then and one for the next replacement if the shortage continued. I have around 10 hours on the first cell and haven't had any issues.

Just wanted to share in case it was useful.

Definitely useful. I was looking forward to trying the cells then I got a few mixed reviews from people and it was concerning. So good reviews are nice. If they werent backed by oxycheq I probably wouldnt have tried them, but my expereinces with oxycheq have always been very positive.

Last month, I also had the same experience of a brand new sensor showing as current limited that was replaced quickly. So far the replacement seems better but I only have one dive on it and my trip today canceled due to weather. I hope that it was a one-off failure.

I wonder if they need to be mailed with more packaging?

I got that email, went to the web site, and the six that they had had been sold within 20 minutes....

Gotta be quicker!

What did your instructor say about her using the OxyCheq cells? Any comments?
