Hey everyone!

I’m as fresh as they come to scuba diving. I have been talking about doing it for years and finally got a voucher for Christmas to get SDI certified.

I’ll be completing the course in the next month but at the moment I am just trying to learn as much as I can and am adamant at trying to buy my gear correctly from the beginning and save my self some coin.

Any diving that I will be doing will be in Port Philip bay which is in Australia, Victoria.

If you have any tips or tricks please don’t hesitate to reach out, all info is welcomed!

Cheers!

Don't skimp on your wetsuit/drysuit. Your gonna need all the warmth you can get in Victoria

Hey mate same here, there's some great dive sites around there. Who are you doing your course with?

I’ve seen some cool videos on YouTube of the bay.

My partner will be doing the course with me.

Is 7mm the way to go for the wet suit?

I wasn’t planning on getting a dry suit just yet. Wanted to start first and see how I go.

Maybe get a Portsea man it's a double 5mm

Anyway go see Marty and Colin tell them Emile sent you and they'll charge you double

Well seeing as you've decided to go with that idiotic American expression

Nice, I meant what dive op/instructor though :)

Definitely, can't dive in winter with it though. Well...I freeze my arse off in a 7mm in winter, I've just ordered a drysuit.

Doing it with extreme water sport down Mornington. Have you heard of them?

So what thickness would you recommend ?
