On its maiden voyage, this 300-foot fishing boat ran aground after striking a coral reef in Nono Lagoon, Solomon Islands. An attempt to salvage the ship went awry, and caused the Taiyo to sink vertically over the reef edge
This is the ShipwreckTaiyo in Nono Lagoon, Solomon Islands. Great dive. Bow at about 8 ft below the surface, the stern rests on a ledge at about 120 ft. Rather disorienting since we are used to having the ship resting either upright or upside down and this is neither.
