Possibly a dumb newbie question, but what's the advantage of using a backplate with a single tank? :confused:

Well, since there's a 90% chance that your BC of choice already has some kind of a plate in it, usually plastic, hidden/covered with padding, yes, a dumb newbie question. :lotsalove:

Stability, and if of stainless steel sort, for better weight distribution.
