I have not been to the Sea of Cortez, but #3 looks a lot like the copper rockfish. My book says they range down to Baja California. - oldsalt

Perhaps the rosethorn rockfish. The NOAA website shows several variations, and one of them has the yellow trim on the dorsal. With the head shape and the thorns, it really looks a lot like of rockfish of some sort. - Curt
