As noted above, the Scubamax frameless mask is the same mask with different buckle and much lower cost. I bought 2 at beneath the sea for $10 each as spares/backups.

That said I also switched to the Scubapro Orbit when it came out and I prefer it low volume and better field of view.

Is the Scubamax frameless mask of the same quality especially the buckle? I have had my SP Frameless since 1998 no problem.

As far as I can tell it is.

Of course I had one Scubapro frameless mask fail - the skirt came unstuck from the glass - while the other has held up well for over a decade.
