Depending on the rebreather, there could be ample information for the ME to go on. I wonder what unit it was and what data the computer has about the dive. It's not really even worth speculating without more details about the incident.

I think he is going by the name hattitude these days.... From what I hear he changed the name because he doesn't have a captain's license... I was on his boat a few times and thought he ran I nice operation...
