Ok I understand.

I have a SF2 too and after a long dive I always unmount the head and I remove the cover leaving the inner sensor/battery compartment open. I always find some water inside. I remove it with some absorbent paper and I leave it capsized to dry during the night. it's very important. So I guess that your false sensor reading was mostly moisture related.
Even if you cannot leave your unit open, at the end of the day it's better to remove excess moisture from the head at least.

Bye
