The posts regarding poor service from this shop do surprise me, not at all the experience I have had. This morning (1st February) there was an internet problem in this part of UK (Snow?) and I could not connect to anything online for several hours. Sorted at 11:44 UK time.
Regarding post #7 it is quite common for ex employees to "badmouth" their previous employer. I have always found this shop to be courteous and extremely helpful. At least 2 of the staff are very keen divers. There can occasionally be a problem getting a reply to an email but this is due to the way the staff work on a rota basis to enable 7 day opening.

I did get in contact with someone. They told me they would send me a reset on my password, but 2 days later I still haven’t received a password reset. The string of events have made me more nervous than anything else. And ordering things via online is always a bit different than being face to face with the customer service rep. They are there to answer questions in the spot. But once you have to communicate via email and no reply is sent it makes for a different interaction with them. The lady to whom I spoke with put me at ease, but the promise of a new password reset and not receiving one has but me again at unease. I understand that ex-employees have a tendency to badmouth their old employer but the rants they made also matched other reviews that other customers have written which make is easier to believe. I am not saying they aren’t reputable. That’s the reason I am at the moment teattering between good and bad.

So... I finally got confirmation that my suit is getting sent. They are legit, though contact through email is a little difficult. Had to call to make sure things were alright.
End.

Excellent. Good for you. Dun have to worry. I guess next time I could give them a shot too. Their price are lower than what I could find on the Net.

I’ve ordered a few bits n bobs from them in the past with no problems, but they’re not one of my regulars.
If you’re still in the market for an Apeks Black Ice then you can get one for £300 in small/medium size Copy of Apeks Black Ice BCD. The larger sizes are £399. Not sure what shipping would cost to Singapore but there’s a shipping calculator in the shopping cart. The shop gets good reviews and the lady I spoke to when I was enquiring was very friendly and helpful.
Was tempted myself as its a fine bit of kit but ended up going for something a little lighter for long distance travel.

Thank you. With some of the inputs here have given me the confidence to buy from them if I'm still in the market for the Apeks Black Ice. Maybe next time I'll give them a shot since I've already gotten me a Scubapro Hydros BCD for cheap here at home.

I enjoy my Hydros but find the integrated weight system rather bulky, went with the straps and a weight belt. Plus you save some weight.

Enjoy your Hydros! It looks like a nice BCD too.

Just to make it clear, as I realised I hadn't really clarified in my post, the link I gave is for a shop called 4th Element Diving who are an Apeks specialist, not Deep Blue (and not to be confused with Fourth Element Fourth Element - Equipment for Adventure - Technical Diving). I hope that’s all clear

Cheers.

Thank you everybody for the feedbacks and sharing. I appreciate it.
