Hi Victor,

Hope all is well! Was wondering what your experience has been with the alarms? I'm thinking about going CCR down the road. I currently use a perdix. I'm considering the divesoft since it can do both OC and CC. Other than that, I like having alarms. From what I understand, there are both audible and vibratory alarms right?

How have you found them underwater?

Thanks!

I haven't noticed any audible alarms, but don't remember it explicitly not having audible alarms.

The vibratory alarms are HARD to miss. They're not obnoxious, but they won't get missed. Mine alarms on violating ascent rate, end of NDL, and different stack time values.

I picked up a Deep6 branded one when they first introduced them. I haven’t gotten to use it yet, but I’m stoked to put it through its paces.

My biggest gripe before even using it is that divesoft doesn’t make a wetmate divecan monitoring cable. I want to try it with my SF2 and I don’t want to use a Fischer-divesoft adapter like Narked@90 sells.

Yeah, I get that. However, as DiveCAN is a Shearwater created and owned standard, I doubt that'll happen.

The cable on the SF2 is a diveCAN wet mate connector to a Fischer. I just want the Fischer end to be a Divesoft. I don't know what the actual name for their wet mate connector is. I'm assuming that that output is analog since my Predator reads PO2 off the Fischer just fine. Divesoft just went and put a different connector on their computer. I get it, Fischer sucks, but if you're gonna make your connector proprietary, you need to make sure it's available on the market in several configurations.

I've been using the freedom handset on my rebreather (mccr) for po2 monitoring and I really enjoy it so far. One thing of note however, the connection between the cable and the connector to the handset is a weak spot. I had mine go bad fairly quickly and I've suggested to divesoft they put a strain relief on the connector end of the cable.
