I just had a similar timeout error with a new Veo 2.0. The connection would not work if the cable was attached to a USB hub. I tried both USB2 and USB3 hubs with the same timeout result. When the cable was plugged directly into the computer's USB port everything worked.
Thanks Nemrod, that helps. Two sockets should allow a small plate tapped for a 1/4x20. If anyone has a photo of the bottom of the Ikelite case it would be helpful.
Here's what I'm using it for when not submerged (down a 1/3 of the way on the page):
Kayaking - Manta Ray 14 - kayaking...
It was great diving you, Jay. I'm sure that there will be more in the future.
Thanks MoteMan for the excellent directions. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Thanks and it's in the GPS. Both my truck and I like the gear to get a fresh water rinse before the ride home. :) If Mr. Reef has no objections we should be down there around 10am.
My preference would be Venice. Mainly because of the bridge work to Anna Maria and the parking limitations. But, I too can be easy. Just make a good argument like, "I'd rather go here..."
I'm heading from South St. Pete if anybody in the area wants a ride.
I'm flexible. I havent dove Venice area in 12 years and never been on the Spanish Rocks (can't make the Sat. trip). The last seven boat trips that I signed up for have been cancelled (really) and Ive been dry so long that I'm turning into dust.
What would you and Reef recommend?
In warm water (T-stirt diving) it appears that a steel tank could could have you wearing no weights at all and still be negative at the end of the dive. Do I have the right?
I'm looking at steel tanks also. I've never needed to ditch weights, but it's nice to know that it has been an...
Welcome back to diving, Steve. I'm doing the same thing.
Vis in Venice is usually in the 5-10' range. Sometimes zero (holding gauges against mask to see them). There's also a bit of a surface swim (200-300 yards). It's been a while since I have dove there so if somebody has better numbers...
I stored four in my hot garage for 10 years full (not recommended and could have ended ugly). The part that amazed me the most was that every tank still had at least 2800 psi in it. In the end my little time bombs were too old to get hydroed and had to be retired.
