    Alaska dive advice

Talk to Phil in Juneau at the Scuba Tank 907-789-5115. Last I heard the KTN shop is not doing charter/dives and there are like 3 people who dive in Skagway so that's out. There are a few on here that are from KTN so it's possible that you could find someone to hookup with for a dive.

Where to stay in Sitka before we board the Nautilus Swell?

Just stay at the Shee Atika, it's the nicer of the 2 and what the heck you are on a free trip! But in reality, its Sitka either would be fine you'll only sleep there anyway.

    Moving to Juneau

Temps will be in the 40's maybe even around 50 most of the summer. It's not so much the water temp that is a problem for wetsuits as the fact that it's only 50-60ish in the air with wind/rain most of the time in the summer. So you freeze your butt off after you get out of the water...

    Moving to Juneau

Nice, The diving will be cold but nice for another couple weeks then it will be crud until early June. Once June rolls around, it (the bloom/vis) should settle down and most of the summer is usually pretty good.

    Manufacturers under different brand names.

Aqualung distributes - Apeks and Suunto in the US, I believe they own Seaquest now. Deep See as well Scubapro owns and is trying to do away with the name Uwatec in favor of just Scubapro. Subgear is a "tropical" line of Scubapro. Scubapro also sells some regs to Tusa. Scubapro and...

Thanks, It's an Airtex 4 CFM compressor and yea, booster, Trimix manifold etc. Haven't plumbed in the Nitrox membrane yet, but eventually I'll get around to it. Still need to buy another compressor to feed that and the booster.

Lack of diving infrastructure in Alaska ...

Did someone say fill station? ::): - , I haven't spoke with anyone in a couple weeks, but I'm hopeful that there will continue to be a store in Juneau. I'm self sufficient at this point but, a lot of my dive buddies and former customers aren't and need a shop in town.

Lack of diving infrastructure in Alaska ...

I'm the former owner - it's actually my former employee that is running it for now. I'll tell you from my point of view - 1. The cost isn't much higher than anywhere else - Really 2. if you build it they will come - we have ~1,000,000 cruise passengers come ti Juneau each year. If you...

Dive Shop in Juneau is For Sale

This is a fantastic opportunity if someone want's to run a shop in Juneau. Opening a new shop would cost a whole bunch more than just buying her out. If she doesn't find a buyer, I would imagine that eventually someone will fill the void but who knows when.
