Good question. The memory of the exact size is rather vague to me, but I think I recall that when I bought it we ordered the boots allowing extra space for underwear. Since my foot is size 12 I think we ordered it for size 13 or 13.5. Placing my foot against the side and just eyeballing it seems...
I'm selling a used large black Abyss 6.5mm (7mm) drysuit. In case you’re unfamiliar with the suit, it’s the cadilac of drysuits and arguably one of the best suit for commercial diving. I bought it about 5 years ago for the underwater skills program at Seneca College in Canada. It's seen less...

Not sure if that was a jab at me or not, but in the interest of defending my competance, I did do my research before I tried to sell myself on Ebay, twice. Those attempts happened 1 and 2 years ago so I've forgotten the details since I don't use that gear anymore.
Thanks for the tip!
I wasn't actually trying to sell them on this board; I was just asking where I could do that.
I take it from your reply that selling on this board is hunky-dory?
Hallo! I'm a former student of the commercial SCUBA and surface-supplied diving program and Seneca college and I've tried, unsuccessfully to sell my old equipment.
3 times I've tried on Ebay, and I've gone to the Seneca College gear selling day twice, but all the youngsters seem only to want...
Sorry, my original post wasn't clear. Basically my commercial diving program has a couple components. A shorter SCUBA component, and a much longer surface-supplied (SS) components. The SS component requires for me to have a CSA approved, strength-rated personal diving harness. I thought I...
No, he's certainly not insisting. And I think his opinion of Miller is quite good, except in the case of this particular harness. He pointed out that the rubber backplate offers very little in the way of support for your tank, making it unstable, and that it was barely adjustable. He also...
In my research I've come across the Barry DH401 Sub Diva Diving Harness. It seems to meet CSA standards (not sure if it meets the correct standards), has a breaking strength, and supports a single tank with its current backplate.
Will I be able to use it with a wing? How about switching out...
So here's the scoop: the North Sea Bell/Backpack Harness made by Miller is evidently a piece of crap. It's not CSA approved and not strength rated, evidently. Miller makes a lot of good things, but according to my instructor, this is not one of them. I've emailed Atlantic Diving to find out...
Wow Akimbo, thanks for the sound advice and timely response. You've given me a lot to think about. Come Monday I'm going to make some phone calls and see if I can clear this up. I'll check back in with this thread if I have any more questions.
Again: thanks a bunch.
The reason I need to purchase that specific harness was because I was told that the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) has only recognized that single harness as being fit for job for the last while. The instructor went on to say that there was a couple other harness manufacturers that offer...
Hi. I'm new to diving and thusfar have been using rental equipment. In September I'm going to be going to school to train as a commercial diver. It's crunch time now, and I've got a lot of gear to buy in a relatively short period of time. I've been doing a lot of research and I think that I'd...
