    Orange filter for PEN housing?

Hi, Does anyone know how to mount an orange filter on a PEN (PT-EP01 in my case) underwater housing? I've seen this pic: Apparently, this is a PL-3 - I would just like to know what that adapter is, and where I can get it.... Using smaller filters with the Oly adapter for macro lenses is also...

E-PL1 and one shot white balance

Great pics! As far as I can see, these are all taken with a strobe, in that case, auto wb is of course the best setting. I'm trying to get some good colour shots at 18 m and deeper, as well as hd movies (the reason I got the PL1) in good colours. So that is why I'm in need of the wb fix..., or...

E-PL1 and one shot white balance

Hi, I've been trying out my new E-PL1 and housing, and I'm having troubles with setting the white balance. I'm using the one shot wb option, and while this works at a depth of about 10m, I get a "wb ng retry" message when I try to set it again at say 15m. Apparently, this means the white I'm...

Which wide angle lens with Olympus 8080

Hi Ulrika, Yes, that would be nice, but the diameter of the PT 023 port is probably 3 or 4 times as large as the PT-020. There will never be a lens that fits onto the housing.... Waterbase

Which wide angle lens with Olympus 8080

Well, there's the oly wide angel converter, which needs an adapter. This combination won't fit into a standard PT-023 housing, you need a larger port. Further, there are some other wide angle converters that will fit onto the 58 mm diameter of the lens, but these also won't fit the standard...

    Olympus 5050 vs 5060 vs 8080

While the price of the 8080 is indeed not too much different (still US 300-400 lower?) from a DSLR, the cost for the housing is. Ikelite for the 8080 is about US 600 (Oly about US 350), Ikelite for DSLR is US 1100-1200. Maybe that difference is peanuts after buying strobes, arms and whatnot, but...

    PT-023: first look

Thanks for posting ReyeR! I'm in doubt whether to choose the Oly or the Ike housing, and this helps a lot - don't quite yet know which way, though ;-) Waterbase

    C 8080 Widezoom

I'm seriously considering buying the 8080. Since I don't own an underwater setup yet, I figure I should get the latest stuff available. The camera seems good, and gets good reviews on the internet, both from specialised websites and users -all based on land usage though. The Olympus uw case...

    olympus C-8080 feedback

I'm afraid no people will be reacting, as the pt-023 isn't out yet.... too bad, 'cause I would love to know too!

    Olympus C8080

Thanks KimLeece, The link below also points to FAT32 compatibility. I would be surprised if it were not FAT32, as the 5060 is and maybe the 5050 as well. No steps backwards please ;) ! http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/olympus/c8080wz-review/index.shtml

    Olympus C8080

ReyeR, Thanks for your opinion indeed! Would you happen to know anything about the writing speed to a (4gB) Microdrive? I found something on the web suggesting the writing to a Microdrive was as fast (or faster) as writing to a XD card -probably because the Microdrive has its own...

    is oly really that good?

OK, thanks for enlightening me! I read Yuzo's contributions, but so far, I'm under the impression that pt-023's size is the problem. I'm not too concerned with that (for the moment). Thanks again! Waterbase

    is oly really that good?

KimLeece, Where did you hear these stories? If you've got any specific information, I'd like to hear it as I'm considering buying the c-8080 camera with housing. As for the lens port, I've seen there is a WA port available (though it has a flat glass lens) Thanks, Waterbase

    Olympus C8080

dpreview has -finally!- finalised their full review of the C-8080, and they award it a "highly recommended"! So the camera is ok, now I need to find out if the housing is too.... Review at: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0404/04042004olyc8080wzrev.asp Waterbase

    It is I, Waterbase

Hello everybody, Just a short message from me, as I've just registered with SB. I'm here mainly for underwaterphotography, I'm deciding on which camera and housing to buy (current favourite: oly c-8080 with pt-023). But I can see there's lots more to do here! So see you around...
