    Pony bottle

I sling an AL 40 on the left. It simply floats under my arm and doesn't get in the way at all.

    Panic Overcome

A lot of recreational divers use inline octos. It pays to familiarize yourself with your buddy's equipment, particularly insta-buddy, dive boat pick-ups. Do you know for sure that your buddy's octo even works? He's carrying your spare air.

    Panic Overcome

That's a primary tenant of the DIR/HOG philosophy: you and your team have the same gear configuration. You know exactly what to do in an air share situation and where to find your secondary. It is bungeed under your chin. Very simple and elegant solution. If you are using different gear, you...

    Panic Overcome

One gripe I have about OW classes is that the instruction fails to emphasize your octo as your secondary air source, rather than your buddy's. Stoke means an unsafe diver. You can have the right gear and still be a stroke.

It's a lifestyle because it profoundly changes your life.

Visual Reference - Does it matter?

Making a slow ascent in a really fast current with no visual reference is kind of freaky and neat at the same time. Screamin' along 75 feet above the reef. It's almost like flying.

What Do You Brag About Most?

I suppose the funniest dive I've had was watching a remora attach itself to a DM's butt in Cozumel and the DM finning along without noticing. :D
