Cayman Aggressor V becomes the BVI Aggressor, IV returns to Cayman

The Aggressor website claims that the maiden voyage of the Cayman Aggressor IV was on Feb 4, 2023; does anyone know if it really happened? https://www.aggressor.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAorKfBhC0ARIsAHDzslsWEselUrlZAH85sjHvucbuCYLhkxivfDBHno3H-1buSJpq6jErBXYaAutFEALw_wcB

Trip Report A Week (25 Nov - 3 Dec) at Cayman Brac Beach Resort (CBBR)

Cayman Brac is a lovely little island but it is far less developed for tourism than Grand Cayman, but the CBBR has a fabulous pool and it also has a nice little beach, see the photos at the link below. There is nothing like the 7MB on Brac, the beach entry may be a little rocky and there may...

Trip Report A Week (25 Nov - 3 Dec) at Cayman Brac Beach Resort (CBBR)

We have taken advantage of that option in the past during good weather. When we stayed at CBBR, a dive boat would take us over to LC to di a couple of dives on the Bloody Bay Wall. And when you are staying at LCBR they usually offer divers the opportunity to take a trip over to Brac to dive the...

Cayman Airways - MIA to Cayman Brac

FYI, I don't know when it will go into effect, but it appears that American Air may start offering direct flights from Miami to Cayman Brac: https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/3rd-twin-otter-plane-a-cruise-port-usa-direct-flights-planned-for-the-sister-islands.627950/

Trip Report A Week (25 Nov - 3 Dec) at Cayman Brac Beach Resort (CBBR)

Great trip report, it sounds like you had a wonderful time! Just an FYI, in the past I have seen examples of divers that didn't want anyone setting up their gear and the dive staff acquiesced and let them do their own thing. We've been on multiple Reef Divers trips and we have no complaints...

Tourists ‘ferried’ into Little Cayman as airlift challenges mount

When the same thing happened to us in 2019 it only took about 45 minutes for the actual crossing from Brac to LC, but additional time was needed for all the other logistical details. Vans were arranged to take us from the Brac airport to the CBBR, while the LCBR staff had to gather all the...

Tourists ‘ferried’ into Little Cayman as airlift challenges mount

Oh my, what a mess! Have you tried calling Clearly Cayman to ask them for help to alleviate this mess? After all, it's in their best interest for guests to have a good travel experience getting to their resorts. Maybe they could put some pressure on Cayman Air. Good luck to you!

Tourists ‘ferried’ into Little Cayman as airlift challenges mount

Visitors to Little Cayman had to be ferried from Brac to LC on dive boats because of problems with Cayman Air's Twin Otter aircraft: https://www.caymancompass.com/2022/11/17/tourists-ferried-into-little-cayman-as-airlift-challenges-mount/ The same thing happened to us when we went to LCBR in...

Algae-covered reefs, few fish around Cayman Brac

I haven't found anything more recent, but this link contains information from the Cayman DOE (April 2022) regarding practices to prevent the spread of stony coral disease to the sister islands: https://cayman.loopnews.com/content/doe-warns-about-sister-island-travel-and-spread-coral-disease

Of interest to people wanting to shore dive in Cayman Brac

Good idea, I was referring to the reports of criminal activity on Provo in the T&Cs, but Cayman is a different country and I hope that they will be able to get things in order quickly.

Perhaps, but it is also possible that individuals who make the personal decision to use/deal in illegal drugs - and then commit crimes to pay for their drug habits - might be a significant factor in this recent increase in criminal activity. Apparently, illegal drugs and gang violence have...

Of interest to people wanting to shore dive in Cayman Brac

I posted the above statement recently, stating that one of the reasons I like visiting Cayman is because I feel safe there, due to the low crime rate - although I realize that no place is totally crime free. However, I have since read that Grand Cayman has, within the last month, experienced a...

Of interest to people wanting to shore dive in Cayman Brac

I am not a solo diver but, as you know, this topic has been discussed many times on scubaboard. I don't think that anyone has ever produced documentation proving that solo diving is illegal in Cayman but there have been indications that it is generally "frowned upon" by many dive ops - possibly...

    Shredding nails

I used to do my own manicures and pedicures and I tried various products - but they never lasted very long. I found a very good, professional manicurist. Now I get my hands and toes done every month and I think that it's an enjoyable experience, the polishes last, my nails are healthy, and it is...

    Shredding nails

I usually wear a lycra diveskin on my body but I always wear neoprene booties on my feet and I usually don't have any problems with my nails. Maybe the No Chip OPI that the technician uses on my fingers is a gel, it has to cure in LED light between coats; does that make it a gel polish? I have...

    Shredding nails

I get my nails done monthly and the technician uses No Chip OPI Enamel on my hands and regular OPI polish on my toes and they both hold up very well; even on liveaboard trips when I am diving a lot! She does a nice Dive Flag design on my ring fingers and big toes before I leave on vacation!

Of interest to people wanting to shore dive in Cayman Brac

Good to know! We haven't been to Cayman since B.C. (before covid) so I don't know if things have changed much, but another nice thing about shore diving in Cayman was that we never had to worry about having our cars broken into and our personal items stolen while we were out diving. We loved...

Interesting! Brac Scuba Shack has long had a good reputation. I've never stayed at the Alexandria but it looked nice from what I could see. It has had a bit of a bumpy history. I believe that it opened as a hotel and then it re-opened as an airbnb but then it got hit by the pandemic slow-down...
