Two tank Straps for BCD? Why not?

I have 2,300 dives using a single Scubapro Super Cinch Tank Band and have never had a loose tank. My family has another 750 dives, never a loose tank. A single band can work quite well.

    Caribbean Dive Resort Recommendations?

Hi @ScottsdaleSteve You might want to take a look at Turquoise Bay, Roatan https://www.turquoisebayresort.com/ We had a very good time there in 2017, the resort has been upgraded since. Very good dive operation, was Subway Watersports, renamed Turquoise Divers. Three dives per day...

    Average Gas Consumption

Good points by @rsingler I have always had very good gas consumption, perhaps related to having been competitive swimmer for many years. Whatever, I have 2,350 dives and have my RMV for 1,877 of those dives since 2010. My average RMV over a very diverse collection of dives is O.36 cu ft or 10.2...

    Average Gas Consumption

Hi @dumpsterpurrs You're not kidding about the ultra-low end. Your starting RMV was 0.26-0.28 cu ft/min and fell to 0.23 cu ft/min when you switched to the smaller tank (sorry, converted for those of us using imperial units :)). I hope you are represented in the lowest RMV category in the poll...

    Palm Beach Dive Thread

Some of you might have read my review of diving the Avelo system in Bonaire last December https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/diving-the-avelo-system.641481/post-10162611 Avelo is touring Florida this summer and has recently added a stop at Splashdown Divers in Boynton Beach on June 24-29...

    Lingering DCS issues or ??

Did you discuss your case with DAN, at the time of the initial episode or since, regarding your residual complaints? If not, that would be a good idea. Your dives were not particularly deep, I assume they were on air, is that correct? Out of interest, what computer do you use and what were your...

Have SB divers lost interest in GC?

Hi @boulderjohn Sad to hear, I wonder if it would be the same if you were diving north wall or east end? Sorry to hear about Divetech, they suffered a tremendous blow from the big storm on February 5th and 6th this year. Waterfront businesses assess damage from 'devastating' nor'wester. I...

    My Blacktip Leaked Yesterday

My son and I did the PADI DPV cert on Apollo AV1s in Grand Cayman in 2004 so that we could more easily rent DPVs without having to do a guided dive first. The scooters were a lot of fun. Dive Tech had a great dive running south from Cobalt Coast along the reef. The battery life was about an hour...

    Average Gas Consumption

Hi @WillieJustice You need your actual psi used to accurately calculate your RMV. Perhaps you can collect this for your next dives. Based on the above 4 dives, if you used 2500 psi from an AL80 on each dive, your RMV would be 0.56-0.65 cu ft/min. If you used 2000 psi, your RMV would be...

    Question Advice on wetsuit thickness

Hi @Whiskeyjack I went to the Revillagigedos May 24-June 1, 2019. The water was 22-23 C, 72-74 F. We did 19 dives in 5 dives, average dive time was 51 min. You are correct, exposure protection is individual. I tend to be on the cooler side. I wore my 7 mm full suit and 5/3 mm hooded vest. I...

    Average Gas Consumption

What computer are you using? Does it have avg depth in the on-board log or in the downloaded log? Gas consumption in the 0.50s is average, perhaps your buddies have better than average gas consumption. Is everyone using AL80s?

    Timing of Dives

I doubt you are allowed to exceed the MOD in a recreational course. My son and I did PADI Deep Diver in Grand Cayman in 2004. Our 130 foot dive was on air.

Discrepancy between my computers during the dive

So much for the pressure being an explanation for the short NDL and higher CNS%. It will be interesting to see what Ratio says. I've exhausted my guesses.

Discrepancy between my computers during the dive

Hi @pisauron No, CNS% is time of exposure and ppO2. It doesn't matter if there was deco or not. The discrepancy in CNS% is interesting in addition to the NDL difference. I would alert Ratio to both in your communication. If your Ratio computer is operating at the wrong atmospheric...
