    Venture Heat - Buyer Beware

Thanks, good to know. The failure rate with Venture Heat out of my LDS has been dismal as well - remotes not syncing, batteries need replacing and "it just does not work anymore". There is a new VH rep out west and I am trying to get a hold of them.

    Venture Heat - Buyer Beware

Other ones that I have found: Santi, Thermalution, Electracore (Europe) but do not have any experience with them. Thermalution seems to have some good reviews. If Venture Heat worked, or had some level of support, it would be a great product as I enjoyed using it and it definitely kept you warm.

    Venture Heat - Buyer Beware

I realize I am responding to an old post, but Venture Heat is a disaster. I also tried to get new batteries for my vest and have been told that they do not have any, nor do they have any other parts, nor do they care. I received the "we do not have a repairs department" twice within 24 hours...

Heated vests - Do they actually work ?

Be aware that Venture Heat does not service their products. The response from Venture Heat when I asked to have my vest looked at because it is not heating very well is below. It could be the batteries, but they don't have those either, nor unwilling to even look at the vest...

    Heated vests

Whatever you do, don't expect any service fro Venture Heat. Apparently they have no service department nor very many spare parts to sell. This is their reply asking for service: L (Venture Heat) Feb 5, 2024, 4:14 PM PST Thanks for reaching out; unfortunately, we do not have a repairs...

    Reg. Stow or carry on?

Carry it on with at least your mask. Make sure you put plugs in the first stage and cap the ends of the hoses if you take it apart for travel.

    Lion's Dive Resort anyone?

I was there this past spring with a group of about 24 people, mostly divers. The dive operation - Ocean Encounters - is fantastic: extremely well organized, great DM's, boats are in good repair, great captain, no "you need to come up in 50 minutes" stuff, and the entire staff knew what needed to...

Curaçao Sleep and Dive Packages at LionsDive Beach Resort

I just came back from LionsDive Resort. Some observations: Ocean Encounters is an extremely well run dive center - Safe and a strong customer focus - The entire staff is professional - boats are in good shape and the rental gear seemed to be top notch - Captain Karen is probably the best...

Bare Reactive 5mm leg sleeve sticking to suit

As an update, Bare made good on the suit and has replaced it. Thank you BARE!

Bare Reactive 5mm leg sleeve sticking to suit

I have 3mm and 5mm Bare Reactive wet suits that I bought last fall. The 3mm I have used many times and it has been fantastic. However, I just used the 5mm this weekend (I ended up using my dry suit in late fall and during the winter) and when I put it on for the first time the sleeves that "hug"...

    First time to 60 feet

One thing that may have already been addressed is one I see when divers are doing their first deep dives. Remember that the air in your BC will be expanding when you start your way back to the surface. Please make sure you are in control when going up by making sure that you dump any excess air...

    Big foot fin options

Have you tried the Atomic Blades? I found them to have a larger foot pocket and the same size I use in the Atomic splits is too big for me in the blade design when using normal booties. I use the same size blade fins now with my dry suit boots and they fit well. With your size the largest blade...

    Bare Reactive Wetsuits--Anyone tried them?

I just bought one (3mm) and used it about two weeks ago for 6 dives. Even though the water was not cold (+/- 80F) it was nice and warm and you could hardly feel water entering the suit. It is like a thin semi-dry. It was warmer than any other 3mm I have owned and this is probably the 5th one...

    Cobalt 1 inaccurate temperature indication

Ron, I have a Cobalt 1 which I think is fantastic. I have one question regarding the temp reading. I am in a room at about 75F and my Cobalt is now reading -30F. Everything else is working fine. I start a weekend of diving tomorrow. Any advise on using/not using the Cobalt since it does not...

    Truck crime ?

For the earlier post suggesting that the key be left in the ignition. Not sure if you are joking or not, but before leaving the key in the ignition you had better read your rental agreement. Buddy's clearly states that if you can not produce the key after the theft you are 100% responsible for...

    Rental truck not vandalized

Some pretty funny stuff here. My two cents: I think I found the stolen air in Little Cayman a few weeks back. A guy who knew everything and had been everywhere ran out of air so fast that he must have been using the stolen half of air in his tank. I grew up in New Jersey which has/had a lot of...

    Fdog Review: the AquaCat Liveaboard

James, Great report and very accurate. Four of us were able to enjoy the AquaCat last week (June 29 to July 6th, 2013) and we found everything as you described. The crew was great, very helpful, especially to my wife who has a bad back; they carried her gear to the lower landing so she could do...
