First Dive / Training (Am I wrong? Or, is the instructor crazy?)

Just recently finished my OW and I have to say that it's super important to like, understand and be comfortable with your instructor. Since most of us learning SCUBA aren't little kids and have fears like a normal adults it's important to feel comfortable with ones instuctor, if not get a new...

First time packing for a trip with SCUBA gear. Help!!

Pocket knives are not allowed as carry on regardless of size. If you have carried it on a flight within the USA you have gotten lucky not to have it taken from you.

First time packing for a trip with SCUBA gear. Help!!

Knives are allowed in checked luggage only. I love to cook and since most of the time a rental condo/house has dull knives, we have a really cool knife set that consists of one handle with enterchangeable blades. What items would you guys suggest for first aid, repairs, etc? I've already...

First time packing for a trip with SCUBA gear. Help!!

As a flight attendant, no one hates carry on luggage more then me. I've often thought that the worse thing that happen in the industry is when the put wheels on luggage......followed by the airlines charging for checked bags.

    high Blood pressure and diving

Thanks to all who posted and especially those that take similar meds. The internet is a wonderful place to research, but sometimes it can make one over think and stress things. Had a nice long chat with my Cardiologist's nurse about my worries and how my meds have been. Happily I can report that...

First time packing for a trip with SCUBA gear. Help!!

We are traveling to a fancy resort for a friend's big birthday bash in the Keys. The trip is a week long. That causes another problem because this place has a dress code which means no bathing suit or casual cloths for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will need to pack some nice cloths. No...

    Diving and Beta Blockers?

One of the reasons I think my Cardiologist is a genius is because when I first met him he knew exactly what Sprengel's and Klippel Feil was. It's not very common and I'd never met anyone that knew it before. Along with the echocardiogram he ordered he also ordered a MRI/MRA of my kidneys. The...

    high Blood pressure and diving

My resting heart rate without meds is 80-95. One of the first things I noticed with the Carvedilol was the slower heart rate. Now my normal rested heart rate is 55-70. It has made it tough when it comes to working out since getting to the target cardio heart rate is impossible. I've...

Hi all!! I'm new to diving and this forum. Just two weeks ago I finished my Open water with no problems.
