How far would you take a loved one who wants to become a diver?

It's all relative, 12 years ago I wanted to introduce my wife to SCUBA we were in the Toronto area and I decided to take her up to Tobermory for a discover scuba, from there she then took an open water and we have been diving ever since, ( at the time I was relatively new to SCUBA, only a few...

To my neighbors to the north/ Gaspe'

Alright, well heading north from there ( after the nice Kingston-Brockville area and the locks) the next popular site would be St Zotique ( just before Montreal) but to be honest vis is not as great and you are looking at some shallow dives with a bit of swimming between the points of interest...

To my neighbors to the north/ Gaspe'

hey! Les Escoumins is very nice, but also on the wrong shore if you are heading to Gaspe, unless you want to take the ferry back to the south shore. for diving info of Gaspe I'd contact "Plongee Capitale" in Quebec City, they organize dive trips there every year. for diving along the way it...

    Buoyancy I’m confused

well that is also not entirely accurate, since the biggest relationship with buoyancy is water displacement, density has a lot to do with buoyancy. that is why you do weight check at the end of your dive. throughout your dive your volume doesn't change but your mass does from the loss gas in...

    DUI Still Good?

Hi, so I'm about to buy the DUI FLX Extreme drysuit, but I keep on reading that DUI has gone downhill in quality in the past year. Best Women's BCD

same boat as a few others here, my wife bought a jacket style BCD and was never able to get comfortable, then tried a BP W and loved it, she has been using it 6 years now and still good to go. Ultimately, it comes to what you are comfortable with but I wouldn't rule out a BP W if you have never...

Steel LP85 doubles way too negative

If I were to dive steel doubles in a wet suit I would consider a lift bag a must bring. ( really its a safer practice for any wet suit dive then the horrifying idea of ditching weights )

Rescue Diver course... good idea or bad?

First off their is nothing wrong with trying new shops even after you found one you like, 2nd I wouldn't listen to anyone who tries to convince you that rescue course is a waste of time and finally from what I understood from you concerns you might want to look into a "solo" course. Its similar...
