I am planning on getting the Sony A7RIV secondhand and would like to confirm whether the Sony A7RIV will fit the Nauticam housing for the A7RV (Nauticam 17433) with the conversion kit (Nauticam 17433UK) so that I can simply upgrade the camera to the A7RV in the future without having to buy a new...
Thanks Barmaglot and WS007 for your feedback on the MW4300 / MF-2. Was able to cancel the order for the MW4300 and will see how to better spend money on a new setup.
Reading through all the feedback here, I am starting to realize the added complexity and potential limitations coming from a compact.
The upgrade plan was to get a new camera / housing / lens (starting with the Sony 90mm) plus the necessary add-ons around that.
Now, I thought to be able to...
Would love to hear your thoughts and experience with the A7CR as there aren't any UW reviews out yet for the A7CR or A7CII.
An overall cheaper total (compared to the A7RV) and lighter travel setup is really interesting and speaks for the A7CR but since I intend to keep a camera for many years...
I think the A7CR is pretty close to A7RV in terms of mp if not identical. Would the difference in flash sync between the two make a hugely significant difference on the Sony 90mm (1/160 vs 1/250)?
I replaced my S&S YS-D2 with a Backscatter MF-2 plus snoot after the S&S flooded last year. That should be sufficient for macro for now.
Overall cost are a huge consideration - the A7CII or A7CR are significantly cheaper (and smaller), which makes them very attractive compared to the A7RV.

Weighted with a luggage scale and comes out to about 1.6kg wet.
I opted for the cheaper solution and added non compressible foam floaties. I am still quite negatively buoyant but its now better manageable.
Picking brains....
I have been shooting on a Panasonic Lumix LX10 in a Nauticam housing for the last 7 years shortly after it got released. Got about 300+ dives on my current setup and have been shooting mostly macro during that time.
I am a sure lifelong learner when it comes to UW...
After years of struggling with some annoying negative buoyancy issues with my macro rig, I am thinking to invest into some better float arms to help with shooting.
Setup as follows for a total of about 2,000g (+/-) weight in air:
Nauticam LX10 housing (about 850g)
Panasonic Lumix 10 camera...
Excellent feedback - thank you!
We looked briefly into Gili Air and thought it's too much trouble to get to. The alternative was Lembongan which is a bit easier but not really a comparison to Gili.
Any good recommendations regarding accommodation on Gili Air considering a toddler?
Also, is it...
Thank you for the info!
Are you suggesting to stay in Sanur itself or to go to Nusa Lembongan from there?
Our trip is about 10 days in total so we do have time to roam around - I'm just limited to excuse myself for diving for about 3 days out of those 10.
Hi there,
Trying to push in 2 to 3 days of diving (depending on negotiations) during a non-diving family trip with wife and toddler in December.
I have been diving around Bali before but always during a dedicated diving trip as solo traveler without consideration of surface activities.
So, my...
FYI - Went to Aussie Post to get a high level estimate on shipping charges to the US.
A parcel from Australia to the US would be approximately $39 AUD ($26 USD), which includes Tracking and Signature on delivery but excluding insurance.
