SIPADAN - Big Fish Theater like no other!

I don't want to even know that! Hammerheads, a school of hammerheads...I saw only one in my entire diving life, that was 2005 in the Red Sea. In Asia I've never seen any.

    Romblon Island Philippines

interesting, quite some weird and unusual nudibranchs. Been to many places in the Philippines, but Romblon seemed like a "fly-over" spot, between Bohol and Puerto Galera! Maybe combined with a few days in Boracay which is quite close - could be an idea!

SIPADAN - Big Fish Theater like no other!

we didn't see a leopard shark, but we saw quite many white tip reef sharks, and one of them swam underneath me and then appeared in my picture (0:31)! That was the icing on the cake. The jackfish and the barracuda schools very stunning, I agree...."unreal"!

SIPADAN - Big Fish Theater like no other!

wow, sounds great. Mabul island, where most divers stay, isn't far, though. The downside is that resorts are quite a rip-off, they know they can sell their rooms all year round...except this year.

SIPADAN - Big Fish Theater like no other!

Yeah, they look bad! Usually I swim right through a school of fish, also when it's Barracudas, but not when I saw those scary beaks!

SIPADAN - Big Fish Theater like no other!

This place doesn't need introduction, and yes, it's really like they say. The sheer scale of fish life is almost shocking. We were lucky to have 2 diving days - 8 dives - in a row there. Maybe except for the macro enthusiasts - this is an absolute must place to dive! Note that Youtube still...

Shark Dive Polynesian style - at Fiji Beqa Lagoon

wow...and did you manage to film the bear?

Shark Dive Polynesian style - at Fiji Beqa Lagoon

This comparison is nonsense. You presume that I wouldn't care of any potential damage caused by joining this activity, that I would put my personal pleasure above all. And that is certainly not true. I considered the dive safe and also not harming to the marine wildlife. In fact one may argue...

Shark Dive Polynesian style - at Fiji Beqa Lagoon

Well, sensing or not sensing a danger is an emotion - nothing naive about it. Believing there was no danger would be a different thing. Before the dives I wasn't sure if I want to support hand feeding of sharks or any other animal, I've seen whale sharks being fed and it has nothing to do with...

Shark Dive Polynesian style - at Fiji Beqa Lagoon

Yeah, they were, but not for a second I sensed danger. It felt surprisingly relaxed yet exciting!

Shark Dive Polynesian style - at Fiji Beqa Lagoon

Quite a stunning experience these two dives were! Bull sharks in nearly touching distance, and what a frenzy we witnessed later... So this is my homage to Fiji, to its underwater world and its culture, too. Thanks for watching!

Cabilao Bohol - still one of the most amazing reefs!

Hi, I stayed in two places, the Pura Vida on Cabilao and in the Sandingan dive resort (as the name says, that's in Sandingan, quite close to Cabilao). The Pura Vida and I think also the Cabilao sanctuary dive resort are really nice resorts (and they have a beach, the Sandingan resort doesn't...

Cabilao Bohol - still one of the most amazing reefs!

It's been 7 years since I last dived the stunning reefs of Cabilao and wondered what they would like like. And yes, Cabilao is still as diverse, lush and healthy as before, with lots of fish life - from pygmy sea horses to...Mantas! Here are a few first impressions, thanks for watching!

Shark frenzy at Beqa Lagoon - The Fiji Shark Dive

In the beginning I felt ambivalent about the Beqa Lagoon shark dive, knowing they're feeding the sharks. Once we took our "seats" and watched the "Bulls" entering the arena I changed my mind....and was just captivated. Bull sharks, nurse sharks, all kinds of sharks, and all just a few meters...

GH5 - Mantas of South Ari Atoll, Maldives

Hi Matt, nice movie, well done. As I changed to the GH5 only recently, how is your experience with it, especially with the infamous AF? When I filmed Mantas in Hawaii in the dark, I was shocked by how much the camera struggled with the AF, even when there was only 1 Manta to track. Ok, I used...

Getting the best colors with the Panasonic GH5

Ok, I put my question wrong: between 10 and 20 something meters: how does the GH5 manage a reasonable color result (manual WB) with a filter? From my experience, below 10 meters filters make water look unnaturally purplish (which makes footage basically useless), so really good manual white...

Getting the best colors with the Panasonic GH5

Hi, I came across your post just now, thanks for sharing. About the filters: I used a flip-in orange filter when I filmed with a Sony Camcorder. That worked very well in the shallows, but from about 10 meters on I didn't use it anymore, because it started to look quite unnatural, especially...
