Question Halcyon Eclipse or Traveler Pro?

Old thread I know, I am looking at purchasing a 20# Travel Pro, so I thought I'd re-ignite this thread. The main thing I see is removing the STA from the travel rig should be less weight and less parts to pack, and that's why I'm considering it. Advantages of the STA? I have a 40# Eclispe...

Si Tech Quick Neck Seal/Ring - Is it Comfortable???

Hi Marsh, I'm on my second BARE suit, that means I owned the Sci-tech neck seal system and then chose to purchase it a second time. I'm a rec diver who has taken GUE fundies and dives a B/P wing with a long hose config. A couple things I've learned. Any replaceable neck seal has a large ring...

    Dive Log Suggestions

Dive Log 6 is a little clunky but it does what I need, I've been using it for probably 8 years, but it's MacOS compatible. I downloaded SubSurface and imported my Dive Log export as .udcf file. I tried every format offered, .udcf seemed to work the best. But now my Petrel bluetooth won't...

Bare Drysuits: Soliciting your opinion; the good, the bad and the ugly

Hey I just bought a Tech Sentry after owning and XCS2 for seven plus years and more than 300 dives on it. I haven't dove my new suit yet, weather just keeps on not cooperating. I did a long post you can find on my thread comparing BARE and why I made the choice to make a second purchase with...

How do you shop for a drysuit?

In that case I'd move it an inch or so towards the tricep. Did you see the picture I attached in a previous post? I attached again here. With the valve in the placement in my picture I really struggle to reach the valve. I dive with the dump always open, so I don't need to adjust often, its...

How do you shop for a drysuit?

It looks good to me Mike, not too far on the tricep or bicep. You'll know when you are ascending if the valve dumps well in the horizontal. Best to you in 2021.

How do you shop for a drysuit?

Hey Mike, it depends on where their "standard position resides". Too far onto the tricep makes it difficult to reach, too far onto the bicep makes it difficult to purge while in trim. Cheers in 2021!

How do you shop for a drysuit?

I just bought a BARE Sentry Tech crushed neoprene. Here's my thought process (your mileage may vary) : Neoprene vs Trilam - Trilam is less buoyant and will not compress at depth, more people I know and network with dive trilam by far. Neoprene, warmer, stretchy, little or no telescoping...

    Transmitter recall - Fail

Hi GregS, I can repeat the test, I suspected there was a crosstalk issue in my Feb post, I shot that down because it was working on the surface and it wasn't until I started my descent that the air pressure blinked out, something is flakey and it's not Scott LOL. The Suunto as I expected is...

    Transmitter recall - Fail

Update: I bought a used Shearwater Petrel2 about the time my Vyper transmitter was recalled. When I got the transmitter back I was using it in together with my Petrel2. See the photo zoom in on my right forearm. Last weekend my Petrel2 went low battery and on my second dive I dove the Vyper...

    Transmitter recall - Fail

Update: Suunto sent me a new Vyper NOVO Graphite, no explanation of what went wrong with the five year old Vyper Air. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, jackpot!
