As I’ve decided to no longer pursue my scuba certification, I will continue to snorkel and may dabble a bit with free diving. My question is this: my current breath holding capacity is about 30 seconds. How does one go about increasing that? Especially while diving (I’m only good for about...
I purchased this computer to use on my certification dives and there after. Unfortunately, for reasons I won't bore you with, I never did the OW dives and don't plan to any time soon. Will be shipped in original box with all paperwork. $100 shipped. PayPal please.
Thanks for looking!
Thanks again for the encouragement. No more cold water diving for me! The local dive shop continues to be silent. At the least I feel I deserve a partial refund because the non certification wasn’t really my fault (which they’ve confirmed). So, they will not be seeing any more business from...
Thanks for all the replies and encouragement. For the record I’m 5’10” and weigh in at about 185 lbs. I’m a bit over weight but certainly not obese. Problem is waist is larger than hips. The wet suit I was using was 2 piece kind of thing with a jacket over the main suit so, some of it was...
Bought this last winter when I anticipated becoming a certified OW diver. No longer in the cards. So need to move this on. Never used. PayPal fees and shipping included.
Thanks
Short background: I was first certified in 1969 (yes, i’m old). I lost my cert card many years ago and was not able to get a replacement card for various reasons. Went to an agency that supposedly searched various places to get a replacement card and actually got some bogus card from their...
A brief update. First thanks for all the advice and encouragement. A couple of weeks ago I attempted to do my OW dives in a local lake. I could not keep the 40 lb weight belt on. It came off twice before entering the water, twice more while getting on the fins, and then after my buddy and I...
I know this is a no flame area. Just let me say I find it takes more time and seems cumbersome to me to put my activities that I log on a computer, tablet or phone. Just my preference. The dive log I have is small and doesn’t take up hardly any space. I’m sorry if that bothers some. Trying to...
Well I'm and old guy and I plan on using the paper log (once I get final certification; mainly for the reasons listed above to keep a log. Just not into all the digital stuff. I still keep a paper calendar, and a paper exercise journal. Just seems easier to me somehow . Everyone is different...
I fit into a Large BCD pretty well. If I was to buy one I’m pretty sure that’s the size I’d get. One person I spoke with rents the regulator but brings there own BCD. Another brings everything but a tank. I figured on renting both the BCD and regulator-not So sure now. Extra suitcase?
I have mask, fins, snorkel (and from other endeavors) boots, and wetsuits. I recently bought a computer for my OW cert dives. Not to highjack the thread, but I plan to dive 4-10 times annually mostly in tropic waters while on vacation. Does it make sense to have my own BCD and/or regulator...
So, here’s my tale of woe. I was originally certified in 1969. I don’t have my certification card and NAUI who I believe was the certifying agency has no record. So approximately 3 years ago I signed up for a basic OW class. Filled out the medical questionnaire and needed a sign off for...
Newbie here (even though I’m ancient). I completed my academics and confined dives this month and will hopefully complete my OW certification in Hawaii in January. Going fishing in Belize in April and plan to get a dive or two in there. Later in the year I hope to go to the Bahamas (Small...
I guess no one uses this combo. No matter-they are dated. Once I get a chance to use them together, I’ll post a review here for all the other “old school” people’s benefit....
