    Dive insurance in Japan

Living in Japan, have domestic and US military APO address. Directed to DAN Japan by DAN, but they are useless for non-Japanese speakers, as they only provide M-F 9-5 English services on the 24/7 emergency hotline according to their site. Any recommendations for dive insurance other than DAN...

Question Teaching OW with backplate and wing from the very beginning ?

Another thing to consider. One of the top reasons that many get certified is for a single/once-in-a-lifetime vacation dive trip. The BC that is most available in the majority of resorts and dive rental shops is the jacket BC, so it makes more sense for them to have learned in it.

Question ISO “Best” All-Inclusive Dive Resort Options in the Caribbean

Turks & Caicos Explorer Venture is my favorite liveaboard, been on it 3 times, usually wait for deals to drop. Safety wise at least 2+ exits for the rooms (1 forward/1 aft), especially on the main deck with the majority of the cabins, one roving watch at all times, safety briefs on day one, etc...

Since, it was a topic of conversation during the trip, I thought I would let everyone know the great news. I just received notification of my next assignment. Looks like I will be enjoying the diving in the South Pacific for the next few years. I received my number 1 location choice of Japan!!!

Broken Inflator hose connection on a BCD

Contact Zeagle and see if it is covered by their Limited Lifetime Warranty (as long as you are the original purchaser). Probably your best bet.

Broken Inflator hose connection on a BCD

Can you post a pic? Based on your description it sounds like the rear exhaust valve broke. Maybe something like this. Zeagle Rear Exhaust Valve Just make sure you find the right size. There is a pre-2014 and a post-2014.

    Buoyancy Proficiency

Final piece is just learning to trust that you will have air to breathe as you descend. You are fighting natural instinct to have air in your lungs when you begin descending and as such do not breathe out as much as you think. This will change as you become more comfortable and are able to...

    Silly Happenings and Mistakes

Jumped in and then realized my dive computer was still sitting on the bench of the boat. After that it became habit to attach it to my BCD when I doffed and donned my wetsuit, especially on LOBs. Now if i forget to move it to my wrist it is still with me. So, the next time when I had descended...

How much have you spent on training and dive equipment?

I can definitely justify the cost vs renting the same gear. ~3k vs $50-75/day, not hard to have saved after a few years of diving 2-3 weeks a year.

Neutral and horizontal with guided dive op rental gear

I think the #1 priority is have the tools available to the diver to make those weight distributions. That was always the issue at the few dive shops I rented from before getting my own gear. 1. Have a wide variety of incremental weights, especially in the #1-2 range. 2. Have the trim pouches...

    Cayman Brac

I've been eyeing Little Cayman this year, but Cayman Brac was great diving in 2019 as well. Clearly Cayman has a great operation and I loved being able to relax and not think about much other than dive, drink and eat.

2FA can prevent me from accessing many sites while at work during breaks, many restricted/no cellphone areas. Definitely need a non-phone method.

Sailboat gets in the way of Great Lakes freighter

Saw idiots that got in the way of the ferry's passage so often on the Bainbridge Island - Seattle ferry. Both sailboats and powerboats of all sizes. Especially back in Eagle Harbor.
