Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Hi guys, sorry, have been swamped with other projects and had no time to come back to this with a reply. I believe there is space for improvements, but probably it is not exactly where I was hoping for it to be (in the booking section). You all raised points that either confirmed the doubts I...

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Yes, in the end I believe that there is really no wheel to be reinvented. There is only so much that a booking system can automate in this field and, as you said, the BS metering part is purely of competency of the instructor/dive master. Re point 3 I'll be at the drawing board to think if a...

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Is the number of dives significant? Feel that it could be hard to track, prove and reconnect to specific experience. The most precise thing I see is the actual test dive, but that is obviously out of my realm.

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Thanks all for the info, Technical dives are currently out of scope in my project. That's an added layer of complexity. Will follow shortly after probably, as there are recreational dives that get pretty close to the edge, so half of the work will probably be done. I assume that a "safer"...

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

The thing that somewhat puzzles me is how an accident in this environment (not necessarily serious to the extreme) could possibly ruin the day for instructor/divemaster and other divers. Take Pkishino example: "narced and bolted to surface" is all laughs and good memories only up to a certain...

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Mmmhhh...the two answers received seems to confirm the few info I have rounded up to now. @MargaritaMike, I'm curious to hear your answers at this point if you don't mind. Just to see if we have consensus with your opinion. This sounds a bit inadequate, considering the increasingly higher...

Bad turbinectomy 6 years ago, improving now?

Hi all, 6 years ago I decided to undergo a surgical procedure to solve my troubles in compensating one ear and finally embrace my dream of diving. I have always done only skin diving at shallow depths (4 meters were already an unbearable pain) due to that...feel like I'm in shackles. Ended up...

Certifying experience/ability of a diver when booking a dive

Hi all, I am analyizing the workflow of the booking process for diving centers for a project I am working on. Asking that because I have 0 experience (an ear that didn't wanted to compensate kept me out of the diving world up to now). Probably if I would have completed even a single dive I would...

    Hello underwater world!

Hi, I am Alessandro, originally from Italy and living in Australia from four years now. I have been skin diving for years, always challenging my friends in who got deeper or further away, all while dreaming scuba diving and rebreathers. Sadly troubles in compensating one ear stopped me from...
