Question Shore Dives near Riviera Beach that are not Tide Dependent - or Boat Dives done before Noon?

I agree with this recommendation. We stop in at Blue Grotto, Devil's Den, or Ginnie Springs every time we head down to Florida (4 times last year). They're definitely worth the detour. They aren't far from the highway, don't cost a lot, and are good freshwater dive options.

Diving in Orlando area on cruise ship stop on Sept 5

The cruise port for "Orlando" is Port Canaveral, which is a little over an hour east of Orlando. There is no convenient diving near Port Canaveral, but since you have an eight-hour window, you could make it work with a bit of coordination. I think you two best options would be: a) Contact a...

Has anyone dove with Shannen's Dive Safari in Nassau?

Thanks for the information. I have been diving with Stuart Cove's diving during my last three trips. I'll be sticking with them in the future. They've got a nice operation.

    Where to dive in oahu?

How was your diving? I wish I would have seen this earlier. Shore diving is limited to the South/Leeward shores of Oahu between October and April. I would have recommended Electric Beach, Tracks Beach, Makaha Caverns, Makai, or Point Panic. I hope you were able to get some good diving in...

    Where to dive in oahu?

judyo1, This is an easy one. Oahu has a ton of great dive operations that can fulfill your needs. Here are three recommendations with hyperlinks to their websites. I've dove with all three operations 100+ times. They offer a variety of dive options. - Kaimana Divers / @scottitheduck - Beyond...

Who teaches TDI Tech courses in Hawaii?

Kevin Davenport teaches TDI tech courses as well as PADI TecRec courses. He was my course director for my Trimix instructor course. As you would expect from an experienced tec instructor, he knows dive theory inside and out and is an excellent communicator. I highly recommend him for tec...

    Blue Grotto Water Temp

I stayed at Blue Grotto for two days at the end of December during Winter Storm Elliott. The water temperature measured at 72*F on every dive. We wore 5mm wetsuits and stayed pleasantly warm, despite the air temperatures between 18*F and 39*F. Water temps remain 72*F year around, but the air...

Question Dive shops off of cruise ship: Nassau, Cozumel, Belize

Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas is great for cruise diving. They have an 11:45am pickup at the cruise port for their afternoon two tank dive. They typically get back to port around 5:45pm, but I've seen them get back as early as 5:20pm to get a cruiser back on time. If there's a smaller window...

Training Locations in Central Florida (winter)

We ate at the Ivy House. Everything we had there was delicious. We also ate at the Shogun Japanese Restaurant. It was pretty good too. I’d recommend either, depending on what the person is in the mood for.

Question Bimini, Great Hammerhead dive ?

Neal Watson’s Bimini Scuba Center is your best option for a Great Hammerhead dive in Bimini. My wife and I just dove with them last week and it was great. They have a great crew, good facilities, and really nice boats. We had a couple of folks on the boat with us that had done the Hammerhead...

    Supporting and Sponsoring Member Issues

Became a supporter about a month ago. Still have ads and no banner. I actually forgot I had already subscribed and did it again, so I paid twice. That’s on me, but please verify that I won’t get auto renewed twice per year. 😂

    Tiger Sharks

I’ve heard many times that the ledge just out side of Honokohau Harbor (Big Island) is the best place to see them. I’ve seen tiger sharks on two out of six dives that I’ve done there. Aside from Honokohau, I’ve only seen tiger sharks twice during my 600+ dives in Hawaii: once at the Sea Tiger...

Training Locations in Central Florida (winter)

Finished teaching the OWD course at Blue Grotto this week. The facilities were great. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The water was warm-ish (72°F) and clear. I will definitely be returning to the Blue Grotto Resort as my training center of choice for central Florida.

    Your new year diving resolutions?

I hadn't put much thought into resolutions yet, but I'll give it a swag: 1. I'm only three Trimix Dives away from completing my Tec Trimix Instructor rating, so that's on the list. 2. Dive in a new country (we do that every year though). 3. More local diving. *I spend way too much money flying...
