I will be in LBTS from mid-afternoon Aug 4 to the wee hours of the morning on Aug 12 for a conference in Ft. Lauderdale.
I'm hoping to get some diving in. I'm (mostly) not carrying my own gear, so I'll need to rent. (Too bulky to fly - and I wasn't able to get most of it serviced in time.)...
I have a dilemma. I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes a year ago and immediately began controlling it with diet. I'm not eating a strict ketogenic diet, but close to it. My blood glucose generally ranges between 75 mg/dl and 126 mg/dl.
Since diagnosis, I have had no more than a dozen readings...
I was hoping someone else would start the thread this week - oh well.
Same old, same old for me. 125 and holding - which is a good thing since what I want to do now is maintain. (if you missed my news last week...

I have now reached my goal of 50 lbs weight loss.
Start date: 10/1/2007
Start weight: 175
Ending weight 125

Greetings.
I finally got rid of another pound (I've working on it since I dropped 3 lbs in two days mid-April). Yay! Three more to go!
Total loss to date: 47 lbs
Current weight: 128
How's everyone else doing?
Same old, same old. Still hanging in there at 129 - waiting for the last 4 lbs to disappear. I'm hoping they go by the end of the month - we'll see.
How's everyone else doing?
Thursday rolls around once again. How's everyone doing?
:wave-smil
I'm just holding steady (same weight as last week). Since I've within my long term my long term target range (125-130) it doesn't bother me so much. I'll get to the bottom end eventually.
I was taught in my OW class that regs were designed to fail by free-flowing rather than locking up, so I was a bit surprised when my reg locked up (no air) on a recent dive trip. Fortunately, I was at the surface just preparing to head down. I tried to take a breath, it sounded and felt like...
Well - I was worried about traveling at the end of last week (with unpredictable food) and being away from my scale.
I should try it more often, I guess:
Starting weight: 175
Current weight: 129
Goal: 125
Loss this week: 3 lbs
I haven't lost more than one pound a week in over two...
It's Thursday, again.
Holding steady this week. I was sure I'd be down another pound - but my scale is flipping back and forth between 131 and 132 this morning, so I'm not quite there yet :(
These last few pounds are really frustrating . . . makes it really hard to be "good" when I am...
Another week, another pound.
Agonizingly slow for the last 9 lbs...
Starting weight: 175
Current weight: 134
Loss to date: 41 lbs
Nine more to go!
Just got a new scale that will keep me on track once I reach my goal. The old scale is very internally consistent, but may not...
Finally, some movement!
I'm down 3 lbs from last Thursday. 6 lbs from being in the 5 lb weight range I intend to maintain.
Goal: 50 lbs
Starting date: Oct 1
Total loss to date: 39 lbs
I am now in the "normal" weight range for my height. Better yet, I fit into all of my...

Finally getting around to posting. Here's what was going on underwater (mostly):
Cozumel February 2008
Need I say more?
Okay, here's a little more:
Second trip to Coz. First was in 2006 with Scuba Club Cozumel in March 2006 - this time with Fiesta Americana.
Both are fine places...
Still holding steady :disappoin
It's a pain to go to an isolated retreat center (i.e. trapped into eating the food) where all they serve is sweetened, fried, and covered in gravy.
Good news is - I held steady AND the inherent food challenges of travel and retreats are now behind me until...
I was afraid that my week long trip to Cozumel (with all-inclusive food and alcohol would do serious damage).
Fortunately :icosm11: the food was adequate, but not interesting enough to tempt me to overindulge too often.
So . . . I'm still where I was before a week of mild indulgence. . ...
I've been having unilateral high frequency hearing loss and tinnitus, and decided it would be a good thing to get it checked out in advance of my dive trip to in two weeks - just on the off chance it was something other than my age catching up with me.
It's always a bad thing when the doctor...
Finally - the plateau I've been on since December 15 is behind me.
Down 3 lbs since last Thursday (and the one before that, and the one before that . . . )
32 down, 18 to go! (only 5 to move from "overweight" to "normal")
