I have an IRiver and I have used it during cave dives. You can still clearly hear sounds outside of the music so I don't believe it is a distraction for me. It has never been an entanglement hazard or anything like that either. I do however have some dive buddies that are not comfortable...

The best advice I could give to you.....never dive at all unless your head is in it. It sounds to me from your previous posts that you may have some underlying "issues" with your buddy to begin with. A cavern or cave is not the place to be with those things in mind. I myself am intro to cave...

I am Intro to Cave through IANTD.....my cert. card says Intro Cave - Doubles.....none of us have ever had trouble at a state park or an Ginnie diving doubles with these cards.

The very best thing about being a female diver, I was at a VERY crowded quarry over the weekend diving, I needed to go to the bath house to use the bathroom, when I got in, there was a line for the mens bathroom, walked right into the womens room, that just would never happen anywhere else!
