As the others have noted, wear them the way they're most comfortable. Depending on your tolerance for cold, the 3.5mm combination is probably good for a temp range of 65-85F (you'll probably be uncomfortable at either end of this range, but it'll work).

Did the program mention anything about "backwash" from the tsunami? A friend and I were wondering what the reefs might look like after the wave returned to the ocean with everything it picked up. Could be a real mess underwater.

I agree with jlyle. The sites at the extreme northern tip (Barracuda & San Juan) shouldn't be done unless you are truly "advanced." At the southern end, I've always liked Chun Chacab, and you can't go wrong with Palancar (Horseshoe, caves, bricks, etc.). If you avoid diving with the Cattle...

If it were me, I'd do Cozumel. I have heard that the hurricanes this past summer did some significant damage to Grand Cayman.

If the only way you can get away with going to Bonaire is to take a non-diver with you, then by all means, take the non-diver, plant them at the hotel pool and go diving! LOL!

Don't forget......Any diving is better than NO diving!

This almost sounds like some kind of Parallel Universe! I don't think I've ever heard anything this negative about Bonaire. I've been there twice and absolutely loved it both times. Oh well, to each his/her own.
