Hi All,
Do you have Vintage Photos - photos from underwater and topside? (wow, this is my 40 year certification anniversary!)
ScubaBoard Net Doc (Pete), the folks at History of Diving Museum, and Vivid-Pix (me - Rick) have come up with a way to have fun with your and our photo memories - a...
Drove down to Old Marineland in PV to look for nudis yesterday evening. Vis was green and about 8ft, and when the sun dipped into the gray clouds, dropped to about 5ft. Surge period was light with 1-2ft drags.
Here are a couple shots:

Hey all,
I've just put together the first episode in a new Two Minute Tutorial series, where I plan to cover different topics in underwater and ocean photography. The first episode is all about autofocus. Check it out if you're inclined!

I'm selling my Ikelite 8" modular dome + 2.75" lens extension (Ikelite product numbers 5510.45 and 5510.11).
Used only a few times (literally, 3 or 4). Bought it without checking if my Nikkor 14-24mm would fit, which it doesn't, and after borrowing a 15mm prime from a friend I actually figured...
Leaving for Cozumel this Saturday June 3rd and I just found that my Sea & Sea fiber optic cable is broken. Does anyone know whether there is a shop on island that sells this item.
Thanks
Strobe has been used on less than 10 dives. Circular beam angle of 100°x100° and guide number of up to 20. The YS-01 is a compact-type slave strobe that can be used for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography. You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and a ten-level...
A tunicate is a marine invertebrate animal, a member of the subphylum Tunicata, which is part of the Chordata, a phylum which includes all animals with dorsal nerve cords and notochords. Wikipedia A Tunicate is a filter feeder that takes seawater in and filters out the planktonic partials for...
This Ikelite Flat Port Assembly is for standard, macro or zoom lenses when used in Ikelite digital SLR housings. Due to refraction flat ports reduce the angle-of-coverage of a lens and at the same time enlarge the image. This is ideal for shooting small subjects.
A port body (not included) is...
As the title states, I'm new to SCUBA (just got my OW last month and will be going to get my Advanced Adventure dives done next month). I've done some reading and decided on the TG-4 camera as I liked the features I saw but now I'm at the split in the road between housings and strobes/lights...

Hello divers
I'd like suggestions on destinations for diving in Asia / Indonesia / region. I would like to see big animals, sharks, manta rays, dolphins as well as micro creatures, nudibranchs, small crabs and so on, and soft corals too. The red sea is not an option because of political issues...
I wrote a tutorial about the strategies of marine animals for living and surviving in the sand.
It's not a trivial challenge for a small fish or shrimp not to get eaten when living on a featureless sandy plane. That's the advantage of coral reefs - many places to hide. Not so in the sand. So...
I recently had the chance to photograph several of the wrecks in Subic Bay, Philippines. We did some of the dives as tech dives, one, to the Banshu Maru, due to the depth (52 meters), others, in the 35-45 meter range, to get more bottom time.
The visibility was mixed, some dives inside the bay...
Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to secure my DSLR housing (Aquatica / D90) when snorkeling in the open ocean? Planning a trip to snorkel with the whale sharks. Wearing only a wetsuit, I won't have a BCD to clip things to.

Hi!
I've been trying to make some decisions and in a deployed location, its hard for me to figure out what I need to get and try them out.
I've always enjoyed macro photography with a strobe...I never had the lighting to get further into the blue.
I just purchased a GoPro and i want to use it...
We will be in Crystal river in a couple weeks and I was thinking about taking my dive camera rig along on a Manatee tour. In the state manatee video it states that strobes are allowed but only allowing one shot every 5 seconds. I have seen other comments that there are new laws forbidding flash...
This is a biased review, since I am the author of a new book about photography called "The Camera and the Brain". I came to photography via diving and underwater photography, so it has some underwater shots, and some thoughts which should be quite interesting for the underwater shooter.
The...
