I'm in Denver meeting my new grand daughter so I'm not logging in here much. I'll be back June 23rd so please feel free to PM me with any unanswered questions. I'll be diving the park that weekend.

call scuba luv and ask for Tim Mitchell.was there a few weeks ago and had a great dive with Tim.:D

Tim's a very good instructor (not to mention videographer and musician).

I'll reiterate what others have already mentioned: the park will be busy because of the holiday weekend and because it's summer and more people take scuba classes during this time.

Get there as early as you can (break of dawn is even better) while it's still cool. Yes, while the weather is still cool. If there's sun out, the air will heat up quickly and by the time you've suited up, you're about half dead from heat exhaustion. Not to mention being the first one in the water will allow for best visibility before the students come and kick up all the silt. Seriously, you can see the visibility dropping like a rock as more students enter the water.

Good point about getting there early. We are constrained to when the first ferry arrives shortly after 9am from Dana Point.

We will take the advice of doing two tank dives, making the first with a guide.

I'd suggest make the first dive then take a leisurely long lunch then dive in the afternoon for the second one. Hopefully the park would be cleared up a bit by then.

I love diving at Casino Point but I like doing it at the off seasons where there may be only a handful of people diving.
