I looked at the live beach cameras at sunrise and went back to bed. The swells were not big but were certainly relentless. Around 10:30 Merry said she was willing to try for a dive so we rushed out the door.
We had to drive slowly to avoid the pounding and talked about turning around twice. We persevered and finally arrived at Halfway Reef where we had the best visibility I have ever seen in Palos Verdes. We could easily see 35-40 feet across the sand. It was dirtier above the reef but we weren't complaining.
I didn't find anything out of the ordinary but had fun watching a Flabelinna trilineata outrun a charging Peltodoris mullineri. Charging is a relative term when it comes to nudibranch speed.
