Hey everyone,
Is there a law or rule against Abalone shell collecting in areas where taking live Abalone is against the law?

Awsome. Thanks for the speedy response.

Sweet. I don't know what is considered big, but I found one last night that was 4 lobster guage lengths. At least 13 inches.
I marked it with GPS and will go retrieve it tonight. There was also a live one next to it that was bigger.

Abalone used to be on my list of "Things to see in my lifetime", now I know where this honey hole is in Dana Point, I love it.

So sad that abalone would now be a species that could be listed on a "things to see in my lifetime" list. I remember the days when they were as common as could be. I just found another "new" one (an individual I wasn't aware of) in the Casino Point Dive Park today. It was pretty much out in the "open" too.
