I did HDV editing on a very ordinary 3ghz HT 512MB machine with an IDE drive and a 5500 Nvidia card. It worked fine with PP. I was even able to capture with a 1.2ghz celeron.

However for rendering speed, today I use a dual core, dual video card, dual SATA setup, dual DL burners. Still slow making WMV HD files though.
