I recently completed my divemaster training on Nusa Lembongan. I have the ability to long-visit/live in Central America and would like to be able to act as a freelance divemaster while here.
I make my money by pounding away at my laptop, so I don't expect to be paid beyond beer money. However, I can't afford to hang out at the dive shop all day without compensation (need time to pound away at that laptop for income).
Ideally, I would freelance and get dive shops to call me as a guide or assistant when they need an extra set of hands.
Can anyone give me advice on getting those first freelancing jobs? How should I present myself? What are shops looking for? What is the typical process? What should inexperienced-me avoid doing?
