I went through it just like Landlocked said.
I remember thinking there is no way I'm going to remember it all.
I aced the written test!! It was doing it that way that helped me to remember it all!!

You'll do just fine!!

Jessica,

I just finished my class room / books / written test exactly a week ago. I too would read the chapter, go to the Knowledge Review and tried my best to answer them. If there were some that I questioned, I just flipped to the chapter and re-read it until I got a better understanding of it. Like someone mentioned earlier, the questions are in order per chapter. It won't be to hard to find it. Always ask your instructor any question you need cleared up for you. That's what I did, and I'm glad I did.

Jessica,

You are as we all were at the start of our cert. proccess. As has been stated by the previous posts, don't worry about it. Pick up all you can from the text without worrying about having it all "down pat". The pool work, classroom, and open water dives is where it will all come together. Get the basics of safety and proceedure and keep your eyes and ears open and you'll do just fine. And don't leave a session with an unanswered question. Good luck! Dive Safe! Dive often!

It seems like a daunting task. You are doing fine, Another Hint that might help. Make xerox copies of the question pages, so you have them right there while your are reading. No more fliopping back and forth.

GOOD LUCK

The test for SSI is multiple guess.

You don't need to fill in the blanks in the book by memory. What is does do is help you remember the concepts through repetition and by physically writing in out.

I just got certified, and believe me, I started to wonder if I was going pass the test! I missed some really obvious questions on it...I passed, but I should have done better.

My anxiety about it all probably got the best of me. I felt fine with my water skills, but was dissapointed that I didn't do better on the test (got an 82).

Just relax. I think that most of this stuff will come as second nature for us with time and practice. If you study it enough, which I did and it sounds like you are, it will stick with us when it really counts.

Thanks for the advice. I did reallly well on the open book part. Tomarrow I have to go and do the OW dives but my instructor said I am doing fine and shouldn't have any problems. YEAH
