Can anyone please tell me how strict air tahiti is on luggage going from Tahiti to Moorea?

Of course, we have scuba gear and camera gear.

Thanks.

If you're just going to Moorea, look into taking a ferry instead: cheaper than a flight and you can lug all the luggage you want.

Thats a good idea however we booked a package and it has the island hopping flights included.

Air Tahiti is pretty straight forward about weighing every bag. 20kgs (44lbs) is the check bag limit for normal "y" class fares. 3kgs is the allowance for your carry-on, which they may/may not weigh depending on the load.

They do have a special deal for divers. Present your certification card when you check-in for your Moorea flight and get an extra 5kgs/pp free.

If you run over the limit it's only around 2 €/kg. quite likely the cheapest thing you will pay for in Tahiti!
