Anyone looking for a change of pace in Cozumel might want to try the North side with Aldora. Three dives, the first a hunting dive for ceviche and the 2 others at guests request. Its $200 for most of the day, well run, ceviche lunch, and lots of eagle rays. Though not the best diving I've done in Cozumel, it was worth the money. Aldora is excellent

I might add it is an all day 3 tank trip with 2-1 ratio of DM to diver, lunch and lots of special procedures and equipment. Besides big sharks, some in catatonic states, it is a real adventure trip. BTW, it is way past the north side and closer to the mainland than Cozumel.

I have always wondered - hope you can answer Dave - is there nothing worth diving/seeing in the flats area between Passion Island and the Molas lighthouse?

Dear Brules,

Not close to the island, but well offshore there are dozens of great sites north of Barracuda. WE have called those the "Aldora Polar Express" which are normal two tank dives for us, at regular prices with normal divers (that we know). Indeed, those diving elsewhere are welcome but we have to have personal knowledge of their skills before we take them there. For the most part the Polar Express Dives are not as stressful as Barracuda, but given the remoteness we have to have disciplined divers. For Aldora Special OPs, the Shark Caves further north, that is a different story. We will only take 4 divers with 2 DMs and a Fisherman to spend a whole day and eat what we catch during three dives in absolutely pristine conditions. No one else has ever been there and the few we have taken so far are uniquely fortunate. It is expensive, but costs us much more than you might expect.
