I'll tell you my favorite vocal effect.

Use a nice hall reverb with like 1.2 ms - 2.9 ms decay AND
also use a 50-100 ms (digital) delay with 0% feedback for a bit of a doubling effect, makes it sound big.

on the reverb issue, i do try to keep it to a minimum ... since it kind of sounds unnatural to me

Howard: the reverb settings i have right now are:

pre-delay: 200 ms
mix with earl. refl. : 80.0

length: 2836 ms
damping: 11%

wet: -30.5 db
dry: 1.8 db

not sure how that correlates to the settings you suggested

I use a second digital delay unit.

The verb you're using sounds great. The delay is a second effect that I also run from the dry voice channel.

i played around with a little delay on my vocals, and boy does it make my puny voice sound huge!
